Dear Fellow 21st Century Parents,
Those who can sense the profundity contained in the above quotation
might also understand the influence that parents, teachers,
caregivers, and the society at large place on the minds of our
children. The question I find myself asking is, “Am I a good role
model for my child to emulate?” The answer often points me towards
strengthening my own roots and rediscovering my own wings in this
journey of becoming a more effective parent. I have realized that in
order to raise a conscious and integrated child, I must imbue these
qualities in myself.
As a next step in this inspiring new journey, I have created a
“Sacred Parenting Study & Support Group.” We will select books
based on the new spirituality, authored by names like Wayne Dyer,
Neale Donald Walsch, and Deepak Chopra among many others and discuss
some or all chapters then identify action items that we can apply in
our own lives and also in dealing with children. In subsequent
meetings, we will share our experiences with integrating some of these
principles in our lives - how our relationships have changed, how our
children are receiving these new ideas, new insights, any challenges
along the way and so on. In addition to books, we will also, on
occasion, watch inspirational movies/videos and discuss the same
amongst the group. We will not offer our suggestions, recommendations
or judgments to anyone and will simply hold the space for people to BE
and experience it for themselves.
The group will meet every second and fourth Wednesday of the month
from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at 49 Jessica Drive, Merrimack, NH (any change
in venue will be communicated). If interested in being a part of this

including what piqued your interest when you heard about this group.
If Mahatma Gandhi were to adapt his wise words to the context of
parenting, he might have said, “You must be the change you want to
see in your children.” It is apparent then that the change that
occurs in our children will shift the world because the children are
our future. The time for change is now; our children are growing up!
Let us co-create a learning community right in our own backyards.
