The School of the New Spirituality

                                    • The Vision •
Vision:
ReCreating the World Anew Through New Spirituality Education. The School of the New Spirituality enlarges and expands on the world's theologies and philosophies to embrace our diversity and deepen our understanding of one another.

Mission:
To empower people to open New Spirituality programs based on universal commonground of all theologies. This unity teaching is centered on such common truths as: We Are One and We are Love, Joy and Wisdom in Human Form.

Aim:
A) Help people create in their own communities New Spirituality classes, courses, camps, retreats, and events for any and all ages. Peace begins within. Peace begins at home.

B) Develop the New Spirituality University (NS-U) with leading spiritual leaders as professors of accredited degrees to empower those who wish to teach, a right livelihood in this new enrichment education arena.

New Spirituality Definition:
"The 'New Spirituality' is a way of honoring our natural impulse toward the Divine without making others wrong for the way in which they are doing it." ~ Neale Donald Walsch

The Dalai Lama, is quoted in Violence and Compassion: Conversations with the Dalai Lama, by Jean-Claude Carriere. His Eminence states, "I believe deeply that we must find, all of us together, a new spirituality. This new concept ought to be elaborated alongside the religions in such a way that all people of good will could adhere to it. We need a new concept, a lay spirituality. We ought to promote this concept with the help of scientists. It could lead us to set up what we are all looking for -- a secular morality."

Neale Donald Walsch has a vision along with countless others who wish to create a new level of peace... a worldview of peace...

In 5 years Neale would like to see little schools all over the world teaching the New Spirituality, even if they are just in a garage where children and adults come to receive instruction in the principals of the New Spirituality.

The schools will have three levels:

• One

1st level function of the School of the New Spirituality:

For the serious student of theology – to deeply study the new spirituality in a comparative way by seeing and coming to deeply understand the differences and comparisons between the New Spirituality and more traditional, religious doctrine. Some example class topics are: New Beliefs for the New Millennium, The Nature of Divinity, and The Nature of God, We are All One , There is Nothing You Have to DO, We are Love, Joy & Wisdom in Human Form",The Illusions such as: Illusion of Superiority, Illusion of DisUnity, etc.

The two-fold purpose of the school at level 1 is to provide a comprehensive, formal education in the NS including comparative theology and other doctrine studies.

We are currently considering that there will be a certificate of completion, leading towards an accredited degree.

• Two •

2nd level function of the School of the New Spirituality:

The School of the New spirituality will serve as a local level community resource in adult education for people who want to learn more about the New Spirituality, in a more popular study course type of way. Some examples of adult classes are; a course similar to Bible study, New Spirituality and Relationships, New Spirituality and Right Livelihood, etc.

The participants in these courses will get a certificate of completion.

• Three •

3rd level function of the School of the New Spirituality:

The third function of the School of the New Spirituality will be for children. This "school" will be comprised of myriad local grassroots teams across the globe. Focused on child-centered, soul-honoring New Spirituality material, SNS programs will be a perfect latch key activity, providing a place for children to go and will include dialogue groups/book clubs, various classes such as dreammaking and community-building activities in after hours programs, mini-retreats, camps and vacation or Saturday FUN DAYS. These can be taught by some of the graduates of the adult programs. A "fast-track" SNS program development process is now available for current New Spirituality practitioners, leaders and teachers. Contact us for details on how to obtain a customized SNS leadership playshop in your area.

We are All One -- Peace Begins Now

Mission:

To recreate the world anew through enrichment education programs that offer life-skills experiences in:

"The New Spirituality is a way of honoring our natural impulse toward the Divine without making others wrong for the way in which they are doing it." ~ Neale Donald Walsch

Aim:

To develop, in a collaborative manner, new spirituality enrichment education classes, after hours programs, homeschool materials, leadership courses, retreats, vacation and weekend camps for young people and their adult leaders. SNS curriculum consists of the integration and inclusion of myriad spiritual Masters’ works.

To this end, the following have stepped into co-leadership roles as

Board of Directors:

Linda Lee Ratto, Ed.M.
The School of the New Spirituality
Executive Director

Author, Educator, former Principal, and CEO of her own education company, Linda comes to the School of the New Spirituality (NS) via HeartLight Education, Inc., (HLE) where she served for five years as a co-founder, board of directors member, daily operations manager, and site development director to establish schools and learning programs in the USA and South Africa. Initially contracted by Recreation Foundation to write grants and gel the definition of HeartLight back in 2000-01, Linda co-created the HeartLight/CwG Model of learning with the HLE team from 2001-2006. She was HLE's first board secretary and school development director. She facilitated the opening of three HLE international non-profit umbrella organizations (USA, Australia and South Africa) and three learning communities, five obtained their own independent 501C3 or charitable trust status. In response to Neale's pledge to open the School for the New Spirituality, in March 2006 the HLE board voted unanimously to gift back the HeartLight non-profit to Neale in order to empower the School of the New Spirituality into immediate existence. The HLE Model manual was compiled by Linda and is a grounded-in-CwG basis for the School of the New Spirituality's how-to steps. These will practically guide people in opening their own NS enrichment after school and after work programs.

When not working with the CwG material in practical applications for children and their leaders, Linda writes and keynotes as "The Un-Labeler" for her out-of-the-box counsel processes for empowering children of all talent levels to reach their highest potential. She has served on numerous boards and guest professorships in such respected institutions as: Northwestern University, UCLS/Shriners, University of Munster, Germany, Emory University, Georgia State University and NYU, to name a few.

Linda just returned from the second of three grant-funded teaching institute tours in the Russian neighbor, the Republic of Azerbaijan. Her children's book, WHERE DREAMS COME TRUE, was translated into Azerbaijani and is on that nation's required reading for all public school fourth graders. (155,000 in children's hands thus far) Her book, the accompanying Dreams Leader Guide and 3-CD audiobook are featured as the primary public relations documents for the non-profit World Vision program "The Integration of Children with Disabilities in Society, Culture and School." In 2005, Azeri children with disabilities were mainstreamed into ten public schools for the first time in Azerbaijan. Linda is a part of a government task force to help establish a Department of Inclusion through the Azeri Ministry of Education. This effort is spearheaded by the USA-Azeri Ambassador Reno Harnish's wife, Leslie, who is World Vision's Children Program Director. This program is a life purpose journey in the fundamental daily application of the premise "We are all one and there is not separation between us."

Linda is known for her organizational skills and relationship-building talents that absolutely bring dreams into this reality. Her five years interlacing CwG messages into daily life for children and adults uniquely equips her to open programs and guide people into the School of the New Spirituality. The closing of not only her own school for the gifted, but some HeartLight learning communities, has taught her key self-sustainment processes, which will be implemented in NS programs worldwide. Her knowledge will directly affect the generational self-sustainment of the School of the New Spirituality, which will be a major legacy vehicle for the Conversations with God messages and like-kind spiritual philosophies.

In concert with Neale a close-knit SNS team comprised of leaders Bill Griswold, Anne-Marie Barbier, Rose Wolfenbarger and Linda Lee Ratto, Ed.M. will oversee and co-develop community leadership teams wishing to collaborate on the School of the New Spirituality after school and after work programs, centers and eventually SNS University. Look for the downloadable "SNS Steps" to creating the School of the New Spirituality, "Step Supplements" and accompanying FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions) information on CwG related websites. Visit the websites often, because the School for the New Spirituality has been jumpstarted into action with its own 501C3 on April 11, 2006. Stay tuned and get ready to step up! If negatively influencial people could so affect the world in just a few years - what can we New Spirituality people do together?

Shall we step out of our comfort zone? Could we show love to each soul we meet? Might we honour and respect our fellow diverse humans? Can we actually live peace in every moment from a mini-lesson, from a place of mutual understanding ? Can we say truthfully "Peace begins in my home, my school, and within my interactions with children?" Can we start choosing peace in each choicepoint of our daily lives?

That's what the worldwide web of enrichment programs built within the School of the New Spirituality are doing. Consider joining our soul-to-soul organization. The kids are growing. Our next generation is at stake. The time is now.

Neale Donald Walsch
School of the New Spirituality
Founder & Emeritus Directors

From the beginning of time, all we have ever wanted is to know God. And from the beginning of time, we have not known how to make that truly possible for us. The book, Conversations with God, could be your chance to make the shift in your relationship with God that will change your life.

In 1992, Neale Donald Walsch's life was transformed in precisely this way when in frustration he fired off an angry letter to God, asking the questions from his heart (but really the questions all of us want answers to) and to his great surprise, received an answer! This divine dialogue lasted for over three years, and became a book that has astounded seekers all over the world with its simplicity and truth. The dialogue has continued, and has now expanded into five volumes of wisdom and insight.

Neale Donald Walsch has been a newspaper reporter and managing editor, a radio station program director, public information officer for one of the nation's largest public school systems, creator and owner of his own advertising and marketing firm, and a nationally syndicated radio talk show host. He has now "retired" from his career in communications arts to pursue his vision of a world in which people no longer live in fear of God, or of each other.

Neale has a home in beautiful southern Oregon. He travels extensively throughout the world, speaking to audiences and sharing the messages of the Conversations with God material. His newest book is Home with God, in a Life That Never Ends, published by Simon and Schuster. For a full book list author by Neale, please click here.

Overview

The following action plans involve shifting the world through education within the 501C3 non-profit education organization called: The School of the New Spirituality (SNS). These first SNS goals will be pursued simultaneously within the next six to eighteen months. The individual plans are listed here in order, though the goals will be achieved simultaneously and have been underway since mid-March 2006 as SNS, and since 2002 through HeartLight Education, Inc.

A#1
Abundance and Right Livelihood, "Fundraising"

SNS teams actively discuss the New Spirituality and thus magnetize like-hearted and like-minded people when they reach out and share the messages in the Conversations with God books and other New Spirituality leaders' works. Fundraising, self-sustaining processes and full responsibility for programs sustainable from the start involve knowing key best practices that will be part of the SNS How-To Steps. The SNS Steps, when fully downloaded, comprise the first SNS Manual. The first materials are free: the booklet "Part of the Change" (www.PartofTheChange.com) and SNS Step #1 are available on the SNS website, to jumpstart one's own SNS enrichment education program co-creation.

A
SNS Manual

SNS Steps 2-100 are downloadable How-To Guidance and will be offered for a small fee each ($10). These are meant to help in the development of SNS education enrichment programs with proven processes and sound guidance. The downloading of the 100 Steps and enrichment supplemental materials will create personal copies of the "SNS Program Manual." Step #1 and the "Part of the Change" booklet are indispensable and powerful first steps to opening an SNS Program. They take time and inspire individuals to move into action now through study and active application of CwG principles into one's life and within one's home community.

B
SNS First Curricula

CwG "Units" are being created to use in 1st SNS enrichment education programs (during after work and after school time frames) for adults and/or young people. They will mirror the messages in the three Conversations with God books, Communion with God, Friendship with God, and Home with God texts, as well as, integrate numerous spiritual leaders' works from across the globe. This SNS Curriculum will encompass several dozen units by 2007. CwG leaders who have documented and organized coursework are encouraged to submit their work for SNS consideration as SNS supplemental curriculum materials.

C
SNS Programs and First Certifications

Call to Action: homeschoolers, families (children, parents, grandparents, and caregivers), young adults, and adults all wishing another way of learning! Ashland is SNS's first locale for an SNS program prototype and will model the SNS Steps in active creationing. This "Call to Action" will appeal to other communities, present CwG Centers' and Humanity's Team groups; two possible SNS locales are evolving in New York and France. Certification of SNS leaders will be encouraged. The present certification steps are:

a) Implementing the SNS Steps with soundly experienced local business or school leaders
b) Utilize the "SNS Course Units" in an adult or children's enrichment program
c) Taking the LEP SNS Course
d) Sponsoring a Founding Family Workshop (cover expenses for an SNS Leader- currently SNS Executive Director Linda Lee Ratto- to jumpstart training of founders)
e) Understand and be willing to update and refresh founders' certification when SNS creates deeper leadership trainings. Life = Learning = Life.

If you are in full alignment with the SNS Course of Action Plan for generational legacy assurance that new spirituality education will remain a vital part of our children's and grandchildren's future and wish to further financially support SNS right now, please go to our sister organization for a special philanthropic program: www.TheGroupof1000.com
The School of the New Spirituality Programs are by definition meant to align, refresh, replenish, and enrich the very leaders of the New Spirituality. The lifelong success of the SNS enrichment programs is based on best practices and chosen community leaders who are themselves lifelong learners. SNS will continue to evolve and refine its certification process not to exclude any one, but to bond, align and continually evolve its leaders of the new theology.

D
"The Home School Kit"

SNS materials and lesson units (Goals A and B) plus marketing materials, (photos/poster material on CD, with a training DVD), plus SNS website exposure will be offered in a "kit" to folks wishing to open an SNS enrichment program. All sales will sustain the School of the New Spirituality.

E, F, G
SNS University - College of Philosophy & Theology

From CwG Practice to CwG LEP Coursework to SNS Training with resulting certifications, college degrees and eventual Doctorate in the New Spirituality Theology, the SNS team will be crafting a new college with the major spiritual leaders of the world today, who will serve as professor co-leaders. More will be documented and shared as SNS partnerships emerge.

E
CwG LEP SNS Course

The Conversations with God Foundation offers the Life Education Program (LEP) for personal education; the next session will be in December, 2006 (www.cwg.org click under LEP). To afford those wishing a more personal guidance relationship as they build local SNS founding teams to open an SNS education enrichment program, people may take the SNS LEP Course, beginning December 2006. Please go to LEP to register for any of the CwG LEP courses. The SNS Course will follow the SNS Steps on the SNS website with personal founder's team conference calls and workshop in the founder's group community (travel expenses must be paid by the founding group).

NOTE: If colleagues presently serve the New Spirituality through a CwG Center or Humanity's Team group, fast start options will be customized to embrace established programs through personal contact with Executive Director Linda Lee Ratto, Ed.M. Interview discussions and co-created next steps will apply.

F
SNS Masters Program

Neale Donald Walsch is in concert with numerous spiritual leaders who desire to pass on their lifework to the serious theology student of the New Spirituality. NDW's partnership discussions have centered on co-creating an accredited Masters Degree in the New Spirituality. The full parameters of this program will be announced within one year. A New Spirituality practical requisite to this Masters program will be the building of an active, sustainable SNS education enrichment program the Masters student has created with the SNS materials and team. Note: if the student has begun the SNS program before the Masters curricula is secured, this SNS program will be credited.

There will be significant progress reported as each SNS spiritual professor partnership is established. In the meantime, the School of the New Spirituality encourages (specifically through Plans A#1, A and C ) advocate leaders to start now. Processes and information are available to implement the New Spirituality. Do not wait to gather people together. Our collective energies count - and in the case of children - they are growing up. SNS will require a strong leader group be established in one's community to start any SNS enrichment education program for adults or for children. Please notice that all SNS processes build upon one another and are meant to empower local groups.

G
PhD Program

The profound messages within the writing and teaching accomplishments of today's spiritual leaders offer the world's citizens a plethora of material to study, implement, discuss, apply, and model in our lives. For the dedicated New Spirituality person, the SNS University will offer an accredited Doctorate in the New Spirituality Theology. This program will include and showcase many varied and accomplished spiritual leaders of our day in personal seminars, on-line and telephone experiences, with guided reading and practical apprenticeships implementing messages in NS leaders' works. This program will evolve out of the SNS Masters Program and will be established in the next two years.

H
Endowment for the Next Generations

The Board of Directors of the School of the New Spirituality is actively involved in the establishment of an SNS legacy endowment fund. Any individual wishing to pledge, donate and otherwise become a New Spirituality philanthropist will have numerous creative investment opportunities through the SNS 501C3 non-profit, USA tax-exempt corporation structure. Any specific needs or financial programmatic input proposals (including incremental asset donation plans) to build the SNS legacy may be directed to Linda Lee Ratto via linda@schoolofthenewspirituality.com.

Scholarships for young people and/or adults will be available. Personal "Mentor/Pen Pal" options for donors and young folks will be offered with options for age-specific connections. Coordination of this program will be established at each SNS program site as soon as possible. The children are growing-up, now is the time.

The School of the New Spirituality Learning Approach
Overview

What is "new" about the New Spirituality?

It is an interdenominational and non-denominational honoring of each person’s impulse toward the Divine without making others wrong for the way they are doing it. This approach to life and learning is at a core level a way to peace and fundamentally a "Civil Rights Movement of the Soul."

The School of the New Spirituality programs frame this renewed freedom in practical and concrete ways. How? First, by the attitude of love, we see the Divine in you as we see the Divine in ourselves – no matter what the age of the physical body! This fundamentally involves an active and supremely special kind of listening that allows young people an even-playing field to express, create and co-design their lives with their adult leaders. Secondly, our leadership and trainings honor and listen to others soul-to-soul specifically to support and guide one another’s dreams into reality. Last and by no means least or the end of this dialogue, the School of the New Spirituality teachers and leaders are learners while they are facilitators.

As numerous SNS education prototypes blossom, you will see a variety of program "flavors." Communities are bringing forth book clubs, after school and after hours classes, retreats, camps, and events within their traditions and cultures to meet local members' desires and needs. SNS leaders understand deeply themselves, and further understand that every person in any community possesses the ability and heart-desire to listen and facilitate one anothers' dreams. It takes focused attention and intention. That’s why the School of the New Spirituality exists.

Formerly HeartLight Education, Inc., the School of the New Spirituality has a five-year education framework, which undergirds our programs. The full model will be provided in the SNS Steps. Here are the educational application approaches in which we aspire:

The following School of New Spirituality PRACTICES and PROCESSES frame our learning approach:

SNS PRACTICES:

  • Unconditionally Respectful Interactions
  • Life-Affirming Experiences
  • Learner-Led Explorations & Exhibitions
  • Empowering People & Processes
  • Integrated Resources & Technology
  • Unlimited Opportunity & Support

    SNS PROCESSES:

  • Responding & Reflecting
  • Cooperating & Modeling
  • Observing & Considering
  • Designing & Reframing
  • Performing & Disseminating
  • Evaluating & Documenting
  • Celebrating & Contributing

The New Spirituality is a way of honoring our natural impulse toward the Divine without making others wrong for the way in which they are doing it.”    ~ Neale Donald Walsch

Heart-to-heart, since 2002, the above practices and processes have been the foundation for numerous learning communities. In full-time day schools and part-time enrichment programs for adults and children, SNS, CwG and former HeartLight teams built learner-lead settings where students experienced being the captain of their learning ships.leaders of their lives!

SNS enrichment education embodies co-creation, which allows learners and teachers to explore and enrich their life purposes while expanding the skills and tools necessary to be peacefully conscious, creative, competent, collaborative, and compassionate global citizens.

Courses, camps, retreats, and day schools provide interactive learning and community projects with plenty of dialogue, questioning, and creative workplay. Answering the WHY, WHAT, and HOW of concepts, SNS educational activities conclude with a self-assessment and self-reflection. These may include a performance with evaluation, journaling, video or audio recording summary or discussions with other learning community members.

Here is a summary of the School of the New Spirituality "Learning Approach Core Outcomes"
