What is "new"
about the New Spirituality?
It is an interdenominational and non-denominational honoring of each person’s
impulse toward the Divine without making others wrong for the way they are doing
it. This approach to life and learning is at a core level a way to peace and
fundamentally a "Civil Rights Movement of the Child's Soul."
The School of the New Spirituality (SNS) programs frame this renewed freedom in
practical and concrete ways. How? First, by the attitude of love, we see the
Divine in you as we see the Divine in ourselves – no matter what the age of the
physical body. This fundamentally involves an active and supremely special kind
of listening that allows young people an even-playing field to express, create
and co-design their lives with their adult leaders. Secondly, our leadership
facilitations honor and listen to others soul-to-soul, specifically to support
and guide one another’s dreams into reality. Last, and by no means least or the
end of this dialogue, SNS teachers and leaders are learners while they are
facilitators, always.
As numerous SNS education prototypes blossom, you will see a variety of program
"flavors." Communities are bringing forth book & movie clubs, after school and
after hours classes, retreats, camps, and events within their traditions and
cultures to meet local families' desires. SNS teammates strive to understand
themselves deeply, and further to see that every person in any community
possesses the ability to cross-empower one anothers' dreams. It takes focused
attention and intention, and this is one of the main reasons the SNS exists
Formerly HeartLight Education, Inc., the School of the New Spirituality has a
five-year education framework, grounded in the Conversations with God messages,
which undergirds our programs. The full model is provided in SNS How-to Steps
which comprise our Manual chockfull of lessons, templates, units and samples.

“The New Spirituality
is a way of honoring our natural impulse toward the Divine without making
others wrong for the way in which they are doing it.” ~ Neale
Donald Walsch |
Heart-to-heart
since 2002, the above practices and processes have been the foundation for
numerous learning communities. In full-time day schools and part-time new
spirituality enrichment programs for adults and children, SNS teams built
learner-lead settings where students experienced being the captain of their
learning ships – co-developing leaders of their lives!
SNS education embodies co-creation, which allows learners and facilitators to
explore and enrich their life purposes, while expanding the skills and tools
necessary to be peacefully conscious, creative, competent, collaborative, and
compassionate global citizens.
Courses, camps, retreats, and after hours programs provide interactive learning
and community projects with plenty of dialogue, questioning, and creative
workplay. Answering the WHY, WHAT, and HOW of new spirituality concepts applied
to life, SNS educational activities encourage completion with self-assessment
and self-reflection. Youth programs may include a performance with
self-evaluation, journaling, video or audio recording summary or discussions
with other learning community members. This way of asking, "How did this
experience work in my life?" applies the CwG principles to every day living.

The School of the New Spirituality (SNS) learning approach is based on
five years of intensive groundwork by a team of education reformists,
teachers, learners, parents and grandparents. Our professional education
teams have facilitated launching both day schools and part-time programs
in the United States and South Africa since 2002. Since 2006, SNS has
refocused on part-time enrichment programs and the establishment of formal
academically accredited university degrees (in process) and producing and
publishing New Spirituality materials, interactive media, downloadable and
hands-on kits, book sets and units, mini-lessons and fun discoveries!
